Singapore FAQs

Immigration

The officer normally grants the visitor a 14 or 30 day social visit pass. I'm not quite sure if there are instances where they give less than 14 days for tourists.

Transportation

MRT and LRT System Map can be found on each train station, however it is still advisable to have a map on hand. The link below will show you the map which you can print for your own reference.

There are designated stops for the buses, you can't just flag them anywhere. These vehicles are numbered.

The most expensive way of transportation is Taxi. Drivers provides receipt after each ride.

(Hindi po nangongontrata ang mga taxi dun. hehe!)

A singapore tourist pass which provides unlimited ride to train and buses can also be bought, but if you are to visit two sites a day, you won't get to maximize the S$8 per day fee. It will still be cheaper to buy a single journey ticket.

On every vehicle, the driver is on the right side so be careful when crossing the street, always look to your left and right.

Where to Stay

Of course there are lots of Hotel in Singapore, if you have enough money to spend, there's Fullerton Hotel, Meritus Mandarin and other big hotels waiting for you. But if you don't have much, you can try the backpacker's hostel ranging from S$20 to S$38 dollars (including breakfast). So always try to search the net for the most affordable one if you're on a tight budget, anyway you will always be out of your room.

Singapore Trip Day4

It is our last day, the day to buy pasalubong, gifts and souvenir items for our loved ones and friends.

We went to Mustafa and Little india, but to no avail we did not find anything that interests us.

So we went back to Vivo City and bought some chocolates and Chinese cookies in time for the Chinese New Year. We had our lunch taken at the mini food court.

Lastly we meet up with a college friend in Bugis Junction.
We were instructed by our friend to go to Bugis Street just across Bugis Junction. There we found the most affordable souvenir items. Some of the things we bought were bags, tshirts, nail cutters, keychains and ref magnets.

Singapore Trip Day3

It's our third day, yet it is the first time we ride on a bus. It is because we don't know how much to pay and then second we don't the process.

So for the benefit of those who doesn't know, please note on this.

If you have the card you just need to tap in your card upon entry and exit on the device below as labeled. For coins, drop the exact amount on the orange device. Take note that the driver won't give you a change for the payment you made.

For paying using the coin, get your receipt on the box below.

I go gaga over IKEA, it is a must for me to visit such place since I'm now married. They only not offer fabuluos furnitures but foods as well.... Yes, you read it right..foods! Yum Yum! We ate our lunch there.

This is my first time to see a non high rise building from Singapore, the area is around Changi.

Here's a typical condo, they usually build their home like this to save land space.
Later that day we ate our merienda at KFC in a mall near Pasir Ris.

After, we went back to our place and left the side table we bought from IKEA and proceeded to Esplanade for a night shot.

Singapore Trip Day2

Our first stop is Orchard, we spent most of our times in Lucky Plaza and Takashimaya Mall.

We bought alot of Hangten shirts in Lucky Plaza and ate our lunch in Kabayan.

Then after Orchard, we went to Suntec Mall.

Lastly, we took a long walk from Marina Square to Fullerton Hotel.
